A moment for day 6

Today’s drive took a lot longer than expected because I kept getting very close to falling asleep at the wheel. This is an unfortunate tendency of mine, but really not ideal while going 80 miles per hour. So, I took many breaks at rest stops with truckers and ended up getting some fast food in order to acquire some sodium and a Powerade. All in all, I made it! I am about 3 miles from any sort of civilization, and had been completely alone for the last 5 hours, but actually as I am writing this someone else just showed up. The campground isn’t to large so I am sure we will continue to run into each other. We waved at each other which to me means that they have agreed not to murder me… But just in case… they were driving a navy blue SUV.

The sun is setting as I am writing this, so I am on a bit of a time crunch.

I did not do a whole lot today, and I think that is okay. I spent about an hour just moving around how my body wanted. I have been working on spending longer amounts of time in each position of the sun salutation and really taking a moment to breathe in each pose. I have also again been working on balance and just general flexibility, but the tree pose writing did not even get looked at today. I listened to another installment of the Rabbi’s recordings and found myself easily getting swept into the rhetoric. Not to say that is a bad thing, but I am not really sure what it is I believe in or what I want to feel a connection to. I know I can connect to things beyond my ego and I want to strengthen this skill, but I have no idea what it is I am connecting to. There is a lot of stigma I impose on myself to not just blindly connect to what I feel I am “meant” to connect with. At the same time, I really have no way to describe what I want to connect with and what I feel I am actually connecting with. I want to spend some time journaling on the topic and will report back if there is anything to share.

As soon as I got the campsite for tonight, I immediately started to crochet. I had been working on this project before I left, but had no pattern and merely an idea of what I thought the end product would look like. While listening to a podcast and desperately trying to not think about how alone I really was, I finished the project. Here she is! ( I have not sewn in the ends because that sounds like a wonderful job for tomorrow…)

For those who are not aware of my history with Minnesota, I once believe that Minnesota was the capital of Michigan and not its own state. At this point, I can fully succeed that Minnesota is a state and a pretty one at that. Here is a little snapshot of the view from my campsite.

P.S. there are more cornfields in Minnesota than I expected… I thought their would be some lakes, but again maybe that me mixing up my geography.

Tomorrow, I will travel into Wisconsin and stay over at a campsite before driving to see Fran on Wednesday!!!

Talk to you in Wisconsin.
